RPM Elements Calcium

Calcium Buffer System Part 2

Maintains proper ionic balance
  • Highly concentrated liquid calcium
  • Great for dosing systems
  • Same high-quality ingredients as RPM Premium Sea Salt
  • No unnecessary trace elements

Overview

Maintaining proper calcium and alkalinity levels is essential to a healthy, vibrant marine aquarium. Fritz RPM Elements Calcium Buffer System (Part 1 Alkalinity, Part 2 Calcium) allows aquarists to maintain these two critical components in their proper ionic balance. Unlike other similar products, Fritz RPM Elements do not contain unnecessary ions and metals, which can accumulate over time and lead to toxicity in the aquarium. RPM Elements Part 1 (Alkalinity) is formulated to provide the highest purity carbonate alkalinity, and when used in conjunction with RPM Elements Part 2 (Calcium), along with regular water changes with a high quality salt, will provide the correct ionic balance necessary for healthy and beautiful fish, corals and invertebrates.

Guaranteed Analysis: Calcium (min) 55,000 ppm

Ingredients: Deionized water, calcium chloride

RPM ELEMENTS

Concentrated liquid supplements for reef aquariums. Two-Part Calcium/Buffer System: (Alkalinity + Calcium) and Magnesium

Directions

Adjustment Dosage:

Shake well before using

Measure the current calcium (Ca) of the aquarium water using a test kit such as Fritz Calcium Test Kit

Determine how much you wish to increase the calcium of your system.

Use the dose calculator below to determine total amount of dose needed to reach desired calcium

If fish are present and total adjustment dose is more than 1 mL per gallon, dose 1 mL per gallon per day until full dose is complete, reaching your desired calcium level

Routine Dosage:

Shake well before using

Before beginning routine dosing, adjust the calcium level to within the range 400-450 ppm Ca.

Once calcium has been adjusted to the desired level, recommended starting dose is 5 mL (1 tsp) each of RPM Elements Alkalinity Pt 1 and RPM Elements Calcium Pt 2 per 20 gallons of aquarium water per day.

Maintain calcium between 400-450 ppm by testing daily and adjusting dose accordingly.

Depending on the degree of calcification occurring in the aquarium, dose may have to be significantly increased over recommended starting dose to compensate for daily consumption.

Dose

Each mL of RPM Elements Calcium Pt 2 will increase the calcium in 1 US gallon (3.78 L) of water by 15 ppm.

One teaspoon (5 mL) will raise 10 US gallons by 7 ppm. Do not exceed 10 ml per 10 gallons daily.

Notes

If magnesium levels are too low (our recommended range is 1,300 – 1,400 ppm), the addition of calcium and alkalinity supplements will simply result in the chemical precipitation of calcium carbonate. Adjust the magnesium concentration first with Fritz RPM Liquid Magnesium before adjusting calcium and alkalinity.

  • If using with a dosing pump system, stagger alkalinity and calcium doses at least five minutes apart to avoid precipitation
  • If using in a dosing reservoir, stir/shake product occasionally to avoid sedimentation
  • Store in a cool, dry place. Keep product tightly sealed.
